We kicked off the final 80 miles early this morning. The course took our runners 27 miles along the coast from Wahoo Bay to the Olympic Training Facility in Port-au-Prince. Rolling hills and very little shade are the primary obstacles runners face on Day 7. This much running takes a toll on the entire body, but especially the immune system, and a few runners have developed GI issues. Despite the discomfort, the runners pressed on towards the finish line, and our medical crew made sure that every runner was properly hydrated and safe to continue running throughout the day.

Petrus, Time, and Lucson invited their hometown Arcahaie Run Club to share the miles with us today and the additional runners provided a much needed boost for our team.

We leave Port-au-Prince at midnight tonight for the final 52 miles through the mountains to Jacmel. There’s currently a $15k match in place. Let’s hit our goal before our runners reach Jacmel. Pou Ayiti!
