OUR MISSION IN ACTION

Accompaniment is at the heart of our WORK

Focus on Who & Why

We partner with collectors of recyclables and their families in landfill-adjacent communities. Through a model of accompaniment, we walk alongside them to build pathways to economic freedom, agency, and choice.

Emphasizing "With, Not For"

We believe those closest to a problem are also closest to the solution. That’s why we partner with collectors and their families, rather than work for them. Through our model of accompaniment, we listen to their needs and walk alongside them to create pathways to dignified work and economic freedom.

Focus on Long-Term Partnership

"Our work is a long-term commitment. We accompany collectors and their families on their journey, providing the resources and wraparound support they identify as essential. Together, we build sustainable, community-led solutions that create lasting change."

Our programs are just the tools

Our real work is showing up, listening, and committing to the long haul. We believe the people closest to the problem are also closest to the solution. That's why our model is participatory, driven by empathy, and defined by a simple promise: we stay until the work is finished.

Our model is our promise. We believe the community is the expert, so we listen. We know challenges are complex, so we commit to the long haul. Our programs are simply the tools we use to fulfill this promise of participatory, empathetic partnership.  We stay until the work is finished.

A FOUNDATION OF ACCOMPANIMENT

Our Partnerships in Action/Where We Work

Haiti

Haiti

In Haiti, where our journey began, we partner with community leaders to rebuild and strengthen local recycling infrastructure. We are working to establish a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) that will increase the volume and value of materials collected, creating more dignified income opportunities. Key Stat: Over 2,000 income opportunities supported to date.
Nepal

Ghana

In Ghana, we collaborate with local partners like SOAR and rePATRN to invest in community-led recycling infrastructure. By supporting the launch of new processing equipment, we help connect collectors in schools and hospitals to larger markets. Key Stat: Supporting the processing of PET plastics for the international market.
Malawi

Taiwan

In Hualien County, we partner with the collectors and their families who rely on this work as their main source of income. Our subsidy program provides direct, reliable income that helps them pay for essentials like utility bills, healthcare, and rent. Key Stat: Participants increased their collection volume by 15-20%.
